That, in itself, is not a bad thing, but after changing my thinking 4 or 5 times about ‘whodunit’ I started to lose interest in the actual resolution to the story. I had a hard time keeping all the accessory characters straight, and there are a lot of red herrings. While this is not a long book, it took me a bit longer to read than it should have. Plus Krista Wagner throws in the mental anguish of her character (which is warranted) and her therapist visits and a lot of other unnecessary plot points. It takes a lot of characters and a lot of “story time” to finally get to the bottom of what is going on. The book opened well with a shark attack, but then the story is spun that somehow the shark attack is linked to a home invasion Rian was a victim of years before. Especially when I’m having a busy week and trying to read a book in spurts around the rest of my family life! I prefer stories with quick turnaround and easy to follow plot lines. It didn’t bring out my inner grammar nazi, but the novel was not fast paced. I feel like the story was a bit far-fetched and the writing was okay. The plot of the story seemed stretched over a long time frame. *I was sent this book free of charge so I could read it and create this book review*
